| LOST SOUL, one of the most extreme Polish bands, was founded in 1991. The initial line-up comprised Jacek Grecki (g, voc), Adam Sierżęga (dr) and Tomasz Fornalski (bg). The three shared interest in creating uncompromised music in their own style - they call it "Cruel Death Art" - the combination of brutality, supreme musicianship and melody. It is the perfect balance between these three elements that distinguishes the band from other genre contenders. LOST SOUL recorded their first demo tape in 1993. Comprising five compositions, "Eternal Darkness" met with the approval of underground press and fans alike, making LOST SOUL a promising runner-up with great creative potential. The tape was followed-up with the second "Superior Ignotum," which was recorded in the Czech Fors Studios in 1994. Compared to the debut tape, the new material was noticeably faster, richer and heavier. In general, "Superior Ignotum" was one of more original Polish death metal recordings of the period. The following year marks the contract with Baron Records and the re-recording of "Superior Ignotum" with two bonuses tracks from the 1st demo. The next logical step would have been the debut album proper, but due to the musical differences LOST SOUL ceased activities while individual members pursued their careers in such projects as HOLLOW, ASKALON, SHEMHAMFORASH. 1997 opens a new chapter in the history LOST SOUL, which, after a two-year absence, returns to the scene with the old line-up extended with the second guitarist Piotr Ostrowski. As a quartet, LOST SOUL begins work on the new tracks, which are later laid to tape in Olsztyn's Selani Studios in February 1998. The "...Now is Forever..." cassette is a good indication of the band's new style miles away from the older productions. Masterful musicianship, incredible speed and powerful sound combined with unique atmosphere - this is what LOST SOUL is now about! At this point Tomasz Fornalski is replaced with Krzysztof Artur Zagórowicz, the ex-NECROLATRY bassist, and the band resume live appearances. Within a short period of time they manage to play along DYING FETUS, DERANGED, VADER, MONSTROSITY and KATAKLYSM. They also leave Poland for the first time, playing a number of Czech dates, including the Obscene Extreme Fest and the Silesian Open Air as well as a few concerts in Slovakia. The "...Now is Forever" is re-released as part of Novum Vox Mortis' "Disco's Out, Slaughter's In" and Relapse's "Polish Assault" compilations. The full-length debut finally comes in 2000 in the form of "Scream of the Mourning Star" released through Relapse in the world and Metal Mind in Poland. 10 prime cuts comprising the album make LOST SOUL one of the strongest hope of the Polish scene - a position certainly reflected in the annual Top 2000 charts. In May 2002 the band signs a three-album deal with Empire Records; "Ubermensch (Death of God)" is the first result of the contract. Recorded in Wroclaw's Tower Studio with Arek Malczewski (BEHEMOTH, DEVILYN), "Ubermensch" came out in Poland last August. It is on its strength that the band signed a contract with the French Osmose Productions a month later. Thrash'Em All Festival 2002 is the first profesional tour giving the chance to see what hellish force Lost Soul really is. It's been a big success for the band to share the stages with Monstrosity, Vomitory, Trauma, Sceptic, Dissenter and Contempt. Right after that, a bassist Krzysztof Zagórowicz due to personal reason decided to leave Lost Soul. He has been replaced by Paweł Michałowski for which first live test was the performance on Hell Festival along with Kat, Ancient Rites. Year 2003. There is no time to rest for Lost Soul. Numerous gigs with Hell-Born, Quo Vadis and many others is a next part in promotion of their album "Ubermensch (Death Of God)" in Poland. Finally, in March this year, the album is available in whole Europe and rest of the world by Osmose Productions. Music from this album breaks the barriers of typical death metal style. It is a devilish mixture of brutality and majestic atmosphere. Really good reviews in undergroud press, reactions of metal maniacs. It is all a great motivation for the band to work harder than ever. In April 2003 Lost Soul is honoured to be openning act on Metalmania festival, playing on the same stage with such killer acts like Marduk, Samael, Vader, Malevolent Creation. Two months later there is a second tour in Poland (Empire Invasion Tour) on which Lost Soul crushes the land with Dies Irae, Hate, Esqarial. Soon after the tour Paweł Michałowski leaves the band. His place is now occupied by Tomasz Fronalski, the first bassist and co-founder of Lost Soul. In original line -up the band being started to work on the new album. Right now the new Lost Soul opus is already done, recorded in April 2004 at Hertz Studio. It is entitled "CHAOSTREAM" and includes 9 cuts of pure death metal art with deep low sound. The band decided to use 7-strings guitar for the first time! Energy, passion, no compromise is what you can find on this unholy masterpiece! So far, this is definitely the best Lost Soul album. "CHAOSTREAM" is planned to be unleashed in December 2004, in Poland. Becouse of expiration of the contract with Osmose productions, Lost Soul is also looking for a new seriuos record deal. |

Давненько я ничего не создавал.
Да-да-да дорогие детишечки. Это то чего многие из вас не любят, а может даже и ненавидят - великий и ужасный польский деатх митол, в лице (ну или в морде
) вроде как загнувшейся Потерянной Души (ну ессессно - тело-то без души долго не проживёт).Знакомство моё с сей замечательной бандой произошло в 2003 г - начитавшись сверххвалебных рецензий на уберменш, я нашёл у местного барыги касетку на порасслушивать ентого дела. И шо я услышал? Техничный деатх метал направленности Морбид Ангел, Вадер да и Хэйт Этернал впридачу - прифигел - стильно, модно, молодёжно (тогда я ещё не прослушал тучи групп в модном ныне ТХБДМ стиле и поляков зело котировал, благо было кого - Бехемотх, Декапитатед, Хейт выпускали бронебойные плиты). Но чёт потом как-то подзабыл про них. И вот недавно память вернулась - стянул 1-й и 3-й альбомы с nnm и решал отдать дань уважения одной из лучших групп Польши.
Что ещё подкупает - это лирика на тему товарища Ницше, что довольно редко встречается среди деатхстеров.
Если пройтись по альбомам:
1. Scream of the Mourning Star
Описать это можно - Морбид Ангел с Вадером решили совместно взабнуть старого доброго детнячку, но вставляя туда периодически клавишные мелодии, да и повыпендриваться друг перед другом в соляках. В результате получилось не МА ни Вадер, а нечто самобытное, но в вене упомянутых корифеев (наркоманы молчать!!!
... 2. Ubermensch (Death of God) Честно? Тупо не помню за давностью лет ибо кассеты уже давно не слушаю, а на цифре не нашёл. Но вроде бы тож не сильно отошли они от вышеприведенного описания.
3. Chaostream - Леблядиная песня Души оказалась весьма интересной вещью. Не зря даж Папка Вадер ей аж 6 циркулярок в реце влепил. Звучание стало более современным (хотя это всё тот же олдскул) и если честно, то влияние МА стало меньше...
Вобщем высказываемся.
ЗЫ Если кто-нить выложит Убурменш на ифолдер, то он будет хорошим мальчиком/девочкой (нужное подчеркнуть по желанию
).

Что уж говорить о музыке. Ранние альбомы я не рассматриваю ввиду их сырости. А вот апогей мимикрии Chaostream! Местами Оочень похоже! Ну и без Вэйдера не обошлось. Куда ж поляки без Вейдера-то! Кое где проглядывается влияние норвежцев MYRKSKOG. И, как верно было замечено, один из гитаристов очень не плохо косит под Рутана в соляках. Как ни странно весь этот камуфляж слушается довольно бодренько. Музыканты вполне владеют своими инструментами. А уж звук вообще выше всяких похвал. Группа вторична до мозга костей, но выполнено всё на высшем уровне. Вот такой вот парадокс.
