Founded in 2000 under the name Dor Daedeloth. Changed name in 2001 to Peste Noire ("Black Plague" in English). Dor Daedeloth's demo tape, "Aryan Supremacy" was then re-released under the band's new name.
The band was supposed to release an album entitled 'Les Salisseurs de Lumière' around 2005/2006 on Drakkar Productions, but Famine was not satisfied with the production and decided to cancel the release.
The band's name refers to the bubonic plague, or the Black Death: one of the worst disasters ever to befall Europe, eliminating one third of its population during the 1340s.
K.P.N. stands for Kommando Peste Noire.
