Oh my god, I still remember the last time I had to review an Intestinal Disgorge (Texas, USA) release. It was definitely one of the most insane, annoying and stupid things I'd ever heard and this time around it's no different. Actually, this is a re-release of their first full-lenght album that was originally put out by Lofty Storm in 2000. So this would imply there's actually some sort of public demand for this to be re-released? Weird. No matter how much I try to approach this with an open mind and a somewhat serious mind set, I just can't get over the fact how utterly retarded and stupid this band is. Just the album cover alone is reason enough to avoid this like the plague, not even mentioning the numerous pictures of defecating people inside the booklet. The band themselves describe this release as "horrible disgusting shit" so that should give you an ample clue on what they're all about. Anyway, as you might suspect by now, this is twisted and shitty gore grind (what else would it be?). Truth must be told, the vocals are fairly original. It doesn't make a lot of sense really and those over the top piercing and earsplitting high pitched vocals (dubbed here as "bitch screams") annoy the crap outta' me. Come to think of it, if they removed those shrieks, they might have something reasonable going on here. The music, while standard, does have it's moments with some classic grind momentums and such. There are a couple of things I just don't get. For one, in the credits it's stated they work with a live drummer AND use programmed beats along the side. Those drums sure sound like a god damn machine to me what with that flimsy thin sound and those fake sounding cymbals. Another thing, there are two guitarists present (no bass player), but the actual guitar tone on the recording is so weak and 'grainy' it could easily have been just one guy doing the strings. In the end, 30 tracks fly by in just over 30 minutes with little to no variation, I was barely able to make it all the way to the end. The production is a mess, but this should come as no surprise as it was recorded in a garage on a 4 track. Heavy on the hissing treble but when the bass drum kicks in it actually peaks to distortion. The vocals are of course WAY too up front and basically drown out everything. Apart from the "bitch screams" there are low growls and the obligatory pitchshifted burps (dubbed "diarrhea vocals" by the band). Like I already stated earlier on, the lay out is utter filth and made me sick to my stomach. A typical gore / splatter lay out I can handle, but I find this to be utterly revolting. There are no lyrics printed, but I honestly doubt they even exist. I must admit that song titles like "Corrosion of green anal walls", "Disemboweled and deliciously barbecued" or "Sleeping in grime-soaked bedsheets" are funny in a 'Bad taste' kinda' way. My best guess would be that this will only appeal to the fans of the more noisy, abrasive and sleazy side of the grindcore spectrum. I'd place them along side similair insane acts like Gore beyond necropsy, Meatshits, Nunwhore commando 666, Libitho airbag and the like. Definitely not a date or chill out album by any means, but more like a steaming pile of dog turds on a stinking hot summer's day!
