Ton started in mid 1993 wanting to create the heaviest music they could, or, as gitarist Dan Gates states: ‘The main goal is to play brutal death metal, but we try to do it in a way that is not completely typical. We put a lot of thought into our riffs and our songs as a whole. We like to play fast and technical then break it down into something slamming and easy to catch on to. Or we may play a riff that has a lot of notes but works out into a hard groove’. Other bandmembers are Kevin Kraft on drums and Jeff Shepler on bass. During the first five years Paul was in the band as a second gitarist.
They released 4 demos before releasing their debut cd, which is called ‘Plague’. The third and fourth demo were released on cd together on Pathos Productions. ‘Plague’ was originally released on United Guttural Records and later released on their own label Seething Records.
