Virulent Blessing was officially born back in spring 2004 when members of Maggottholamia decided to have a fresh start with different kind of musical direction. The original line-up included Petri and Vesa who left the band soon after the formation and decided to continue under the name of Maggottholamia. Promo '05 was recorded with Vesa, but Petri had already left the band. Kalle was unable to participate the recordings because he was in army at that time. The promo was really low-fi since it was completely recorded in the band's rehearsing place. Tane, Sami and Kalle held Virulent together as a three-piece ‘till early ’06 when Markus joined the band as a bassist. Still without a vocalist on their ranks the band begun to record new material in March 2006. It was around the time all the instruments were finally recorded successfully, when the band found themselves the last missing piece: a new vocalist – Heikki, who had history with Kalle playing in the same garage black metal band in early 2000’s. Virulent Blessing’s musical influences are in Death Metal, alternative, progressive rock and Black Metal to name a few genres. Bands who have broken the caps between different genres such as Opeth, Mr. Bungle, Devin Townsend & SYL, and Akercocke as well as brutal death metal bands like Devourment, Demilich, Immolation and Avulsed have all been very influential to the band’s direction.

В полку прогрессивных брутальщиков пополнение, сделали его финские кудесники, то бишь из страны, которая на такие откровения не богата. А вышел сей диск - уугадайте где? та-да, на Soulflesh collector!
Альбом - технично-брутальная работа из ломаных ритмов, среднетемповой скорости игры, великолепного гроула, окутанная туманом психоделичных мелодий.
Желающим диск - сюда, что с сэмплами - не знаю.
