Ever since they first stormed the death metal scene in the early half of 1998, Alabama death metal masters Spinecast, have continued to pummel the underground with a mind-blowing sonic assault. This band has only become more brutal over the years as each new release demonstrates a variety of matured technical styling and in your face ferocity. In a time when the stakes for achieving intensity in death metal are constantly being raised Spinecast continues to maintain their status as a high caliber contender for the respect of thier fans. Aside from studio work Spinecast has always proven themselves on the live front. Headlining an array of shows in their hometown as well as in cities throughout many different states they have displayed themselves as a tight live force to behold. Their performances earned them the most coveted slots opening for the greatest bands in death metal. They are no strangers to the festival scene either, having taken part in a variety of large multi-band shows. Initially Spinecast came into play with the release of their first breakthrough demo entitled "Nightmares of Depravity". This 3-song effort was enough to gain them worldwide acceptance from true fans of underground death metal. It set a base for them to build upon by receiving rave reviews from widely circulated underground fanzines of the time. Many interviews were completed on behalf of this demo and news was spread quickly to those seeking something fresh, new, and brutal. In the fall of 1999 they released their debut full length "Disease of Worthlessness" which obtained them ten-fold the recognition as their previous demo had. This album featured more in depth song writing and increased technical proficiency on their instruments and engineering, as well as cover art and inlay done by well-known musician and graphic designer, Chris Pervelis from Internal Bleeding. The last release “Go Forth And Mutilate” released by Crash Music 2002, was recorded once again at Soundworks studio in Decatur, AL and engineered by reputable producer Dave Pittman (Fleshtized, Blood Stained Dusk, Convergence From Within) and features cover art by well-known artist Zig also known for his work with Deeds of Flesh and many others. This album is was more involved in terms of speed, technicality, creative riffing, and arrangements. The disc is a multi-layered attack of heavy, technical, punishing, and blood curdling extreme death metal. The upcoming release in 2005 is yet another step up in musicianship and crushing brutality. Another full-length disc being released by Crash Music will be recorded in early 2005 with yet another line up. Lance Wright (drums) left the band in winter 2003 and his slot has since been filled with one of the best in death metal, Gary White (Fleshtized) to complete a new devastating line up. Guitar and vocals will be executed by Kron O’Neal, Cameron Pinkerton/rhythm guitar, and Leslie Keeble/bass. All of the songs for the new disc are written/arranged and art/layout details are soon in the works. Studio will be set for early 2005, a new website is in the making as well. Keep an eye out for Spinecast in the near future with by far their best work yet and stay fucking sick! |
